LOS FELIZ — The L.A. City Council voted to decriminalize street vending, aiming to protect the immigrant population by eliminating criminal charges that could lead to deportation for unauthorized vendors. According to the Los Angeles Times, street vending previously carried misdemeanor charges that, under President Trump’s deportation order, put undocumented immigrants at risk — even without a court conviction.
