Macee Binns is a published Playwright, Screenwriter, Blogger and Journalist that has WON countless awards for her plays, screenplays, articles and stories. Her crowning achievement, the female-led romantic dramedy script, Hand Twins, awed judges when it WON awards for Best Feature Screenplay at the prestigious 2022 California Women’s Film Festival, the 2022 First Women Film Festival, and the 2022 Venus Community Awards, out of hundreds of entries submitted from around the world. Hand Twins, proceeded to secure a Preliminary Finalist spot at the 2022 Creative World Awards, and it continued to gain recognition with those in the industry, when the screenplay became one of the select few scripts to be passed on to the Semi-Finals at the 2022 ScreenCraft Film Fund Feature Competition with Mark Duplass out of over 1,300 entries. Additionally, Hand Twins received Official Selection Nominations for Best Feature Film Script at the 2021 Miami Indie Film Awards, the 2021 Toronto Film and Script Awards in association with Toronto Film Magazine, the 2022 Andromeda Film Festival, the 2022 LA Indies Film Festival, the 2023 Cannes Film Awards, and the 2022 Toronto International Women’s Film Festival. Beyond her success with Hand Twins, Macee Binns is a celebrated and published playwright whose works have graced the stages of regional and community theaters across the U.S. In 2014, her gift for storytelling was honored when Macee’s short film script, Row 28, was awarded a Finalist Title at the esteemed Hollywood Screenplay Contest. Subsequently, the stage play adaptation of Row 28 was published by JAC Publishing & Promotions and is currently sold on Amazon and Kindle eBooks, making it accessible to theater enthusiasts worldwide. Macee’s writing talent extended into short form publications, when two original monologues from her play Stone Cold Sober were selected by Smith and Kraus Publishers for print in their annual anthology book series, The Best Women's Stage Monologues of 2017. In 2018, Heuer Publishing went on to acquire Macee's play Candi With An I and prominently featured the comedic one-act in their renowned Catalog for the Performing Arts. In 2019, Macee's creative writing talents continued to excel with the publication of her play, Now Boarding, by Off The Wall Plays along with her collection of monologues Static, Stuffed Panda, and Undressed. During her time in Hollywood, Macee’s love of words led to her working as a Content Writer for the popular news media sites TheRichest, Ranker, and TopBuzz, where several of her articles went viral and amassed over 3 million views online. Additionally, her flair for journalism was further established during her 2-year stint working as a Reporter for The Canyon News in Los Angeles. In 2018, Dancing Iguana Productions recognized Macee’s storytelling abilities and brought her onboard their team as a Segment Writer, Producer, and occasional Co-host of the hit podcast, Left Unsupervised, available on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, TuneIn, and Spotify. In 2021, Macee was invited to serve on the Arkansas Arts Council, putting her expertise to work as a Grant Reviewer and Panel Member, supporting performing arts organizations in her home state. Over past two years, Macee’s commitment to nurturing up-and-coming writers led to her serving as a Screenplay Contest Judge at the 2023 & 2024 SYS's Six-Figure Film Festival and Screenplay Contest, where she evaluated screenplays for the competition and participated in Industry Panels, sharing her aptitude in the field of screenwriting.
